How does the filter actually soften the water?
It uses advanced Polyphosphate crystals (balls) inside the cartridge. As water passes through, these crystals slowly dissolve and coat the hard water minerals (calcium and magnesium), preventing them from sticking to your clothes or forming scale in your machine drum.
How do I know when it’s time to change the cartridge?
It’s easy to check visually. The cartridge is filled with transparent polyphosphate crystals. When these crystals have dissolved (melted) completely it is time to insert a fresh cartridge.
What is the shelf life? Can I buy a pack of 2 or 3 and store them?
Yes, you can stock up. The cartridges have an indefinite shelf life as long as they are kept dry and away from direct moisture. Buying a multi-pack is a great way to ensure you never run out of protection.
How do I replace the old cartridge?
It takes less than 2 minutes:

-Turn off the water tap.
-Unscrew the bottom housing of your filter.
-Remove the empty/old cartridge and rinse the housing.
-Insert the new cartridge, screw the housing back on, and turn the water on.
Will this reduce the TDS in my water?
No. Just like the main unit, this replacement cartridge is a Water Conditioner, not an RO purifier. It prevents limescale and protects your clothes/appliances without removing the minerals, so the TDS reading will remain the same.
